Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
