Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Prolific young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
An official for the publisher said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards women.
The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.
To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
